Day 4: Fort DeSoto Park

 

Ryan and I researched this park while Owen took a nap.  It was GREAT for sea shell collecting and sunsets on the pier!

We started with a picnic

The water was SO clear and calm.  It was by far our favorite beach.

I think this might be one of my favorite pictures of him!

And of course, some hanging around!

Less than 10 feet from us was a restricted beach where sea birds were nesting.  It was so pretty.

After the sun started setting, we dried off and headed to the pier to watch the sunset!

Day 4: Back to the Beach

Time for a little breakfast on the balcony!

Owen and I headed down to the water

I wanted to play in the huge hole, but Owen had no interest!

Then it was onto building sand castles!

After that, we decided to get lunch on the beach!



Whew we were all exhausted after that- stay tuned for our evening at Fort DeSoto Park!

Day 3: Off to the beach!

 

Well this is where our story gets a little sad.  While we didn’t take our good camera into any of the Disney parks to avoid loss/injury, we did actually bring it with us to use for the beach.  As we were packing the car to leave Disney, it fell out of my bag and BROKE!  I of course didn’t notice it until after we had just taken a bunch of beach shots of O, and I tried to review them at the hotel- *sigh*

But onward and upward, we had our camera phones, so we were able to still capture the trip.

Ahh finally stepping into the powdery white sand…

Oh what a difference a year makes!  Last year we couldn’t keep Owen from sprinting into the waves.  This year, he was terrified; he didn’t want his feet even touching the ground!  Here is some video of his reintroduction to the beach:
