Just Another Monday Morning

It’s probably 30 degrees out, and this is how Owen went outside to play.  Undies, PJ top, raincoat, and boots.  I thought he would teach himself a lesson about cold weather and clothes.  Turns out, he didn’t mind!

Yup that’s ice.

After about 10 trips outside, Owen and I made waffles.  We’ve been trying to cut back on sugar, so no syrup.  However, we found Whipped Cream is relatively low sugar!  Guess who LOVES this idea, but has to apply it by themselves…

 

Then he made a Valentine for Dad and wrapped it.  (I’ll add pictures of Dad getting it later)

 

Then him and M played with a water mat our friend Erin gave us.  The two of them managed to bust it in about five minutes.

Here’s a little video.  After watching, I’m guessing it was Owen’s “gentle pats” that did it.

Lastly, I thought I’d show off some of Owen’s furnace artwork.  The yellow and red ones have metal (the hearts) firing in them.  The white one is special because the purple is the furnace, the yellow is the fire burning inside, and the red is the outlet it’s plugged into

The Great Milk Mixing

My friend Katie did this cool milk experiment with her son, and I thought we’d try it!  Unfortunately, we only have fat free milk so we experimented with the fat-free milk, half & half, and some of Margot’s old formula.  We learned the colors mix when the dish soap causes the fat molecules to spread and wiggle as it tries to bind them together.  No fat, no color mixing!  Turns out our fat free milk mixed too but not nearly as well. 

The half and half worked really well!

The FF milk- not so much, but more than we expected!  The proteins must have been moving around too


The formula worked pretty well too!  He guessed correctly that the formula would work because it has fat!

Owen’s Big Swing!

 

We had a sunny warm Saturday and got to clean up the remaining leaves and play outside!  It was a BIG day for Owen because he finally got up the nerve to go on his swing!  He was never really a big fan of it, but decided he would try to Superman on it after he watched me give it a few tries.  Hooray!
