Margot is Five Months Old!!

 

Margot is such a sweet baby! 

She weighs 16lbs now.

She will not stay on her tummy and immediately rolls to her back.  Once on her back, she does crunches trying to sit herself up.  The pediatrician said he’s never seen a baby work so hard on their six pack.  

She is getting really good at sitting up (almost overnight), and it’s pretty much all she wants to do!  She can sit up about ten seconds by herself before she starts tipping one direction or the other.  With the Boppy around her waist, she can sit up quite a long time. 

She can scoot herself across her playmat by grabbing it and pulling herself forward.  When we can actually get her to stay on her stomach.

She is still sleeping through the night, usually wakes up at 4 and eats, then sleeps until 8am. 

She is the total opposite of Owen and prefers to jump in her jumper or sit, rather than being held. 

 

Sweetheart Fun

 

We had two boxes of SweetHearts so I thought we’d play with them instead of eat them. 

He was not a big fan of the letter tracing.  It was a big flop.

So we played Tic Tac Toe!  Owen does not like losing- he would move my hearts or take my turn!

 

Then next day we decided to measure using SweetHearts.  Owen loves this episode on Curious George where George measures things using his arm length, so this tied in perfectly.

 

Then he drew his own flower and measured it!!  <<proud mama here>>

Now I just need to think of some more fun ideas!

Margot vs. Sweet Potatoes

 

I’ve been letting Margot munch on bland versions of whatever we’re eating, but I don’t think she actually eats much of it.  Today we decided to try giving her some sweet potato puree, and see if she liked it.  I think the verdict is out

 

And not to be outdone… eating a brisket sandwich.
