Owen and I had a fun morning getting ready for New Years Eve tonight!
We dug the New years blowers and poppers out of the attic!
Then Owen decided he wanted a balloon drop at midnight (we’ve been watching old ball drops on YouTube and looking at pictures from last year). So he got to work blowing up balloons!
We made balloon animals and swords
And learned how static electricity can stick balloons to walls or heads!
Next we worked on a winter scene!
He was mad I put the glitter tree on, so he took it off…
and reapplied the adhesive backing…
peeled it back off again and put it floating in the sky
He did a really good job and did every sticker himself! Yes, the penguin and snowman are supposed to be flying through the sky because it was “very windy”.
Then we went outside to play and make a Happy New Year drawing.
You can’t really see it in the picture, but I took this because it was the first time he really wanted to draw or color anything. He wanted to see how you draw snowflakes so I would draw one in blue, and he’d trace it in white. Then he drew the snowman’s eyes and traced the circles!
