Week in Review: 3/24-3/30

Such a fun week we had getting geared up for Easter!  We loved having everyone in town to celebrate with us!  Here are a lot of mini-posts that I thought I’d combine here since we have SO many big Easter posts to come!

We are trying to give Owen small contributions (chores) for him to start doing.  One that he loves and does really well is putting silverware away when the dishwasher needs unloaded!

I can hear him say “Where is the fork?  Here’s the forks!”  It’s super cute.

As I mentioned, we decided to do a little arranging for when new baby arrives!  We decided to swap our family room and playroom so that I have space for the swing and bouncer in there this fall!  It’s no where near done, and I’m sure I’ll rearrange it 100 times, but here is the general idea.  We have a “kitchen area”, “block area”,  “toy area”, and “art/play table”.

Owen has a book called Animals in Art that he loves.  One page says “A sleepy cat finds a cozy place”  Here Owen is reciting the line:

And here he is acting it out!

Anyone who knows Owen, knows his obsession with fans.  He now has FIVE handheld fans thanks to all the wonderful Easter presents he received!  Here is his flower fan:

Another love of Owen’s is cake.  He insisted on having a candle since who eats cake if it’s not their birthday!

Daily Tidbits from the Week:

We had a lot this week, so I may save some for later posts!

-  As a preface to the following story, I should indicate that Owen has been very curious about his penis and why I don’t have one.  We have been very forthright that boys have a penis, and girls have a vagina.

Owen asked Ryan and I how the baby will get out of my belly.  I laughingly said the baby will “Pop out of my vagina (god willing, it’ll be that fast)!”  Well it was in passing, and we didn’t expect Owen to remember it.  Cut to six hours later, we’re skyping with my parents and Owen tells Nona and Papa that the baby is going to Pop out of mommy’s vagina!  They asked him to repeat what he said several times (as I DIE laughing), and I finally confirm that he did actually say that!  Hahaha

-  I came home from a doctors appointment on Friday, only to have Owen tell me, within the first five minutes, that he “played Wii and smmmmmaaaacked the golf ball!”  That’s right, he ratted out Dad who let him play Tiger Woods Golf with him after I left for my appointment!  There are no secrets in this house!

Easter Egg Hunt

We thought we were going to miss out on Easter Egg Hunts this year because it was a VERY rainy Easter weekend.  Fortunately, the rain held off for an hour on Saturday morning, and we found one last minute at our favorite park!  His age group 0-3 was just a bunch of eggs thrown in the open green space in front of the playground.  Oddly, they put a steel drum band in the middle of the green area, so most of the younger kids, Owen included, were a bit hesitant to run out.  Owen just stood there watching the band while we encouraged him to pick up the ones laying all around him (as I mentioned he is in a sound sensitive phase right now)!  I think he got about 12 eggs though and shared with his buddy Max.

Easter Surprise Bath

To get Owen excited for Easter, we planned an Easter surprise bath complete with Magic Easter Capsules, colored water, eggs, and bunny masks!  He also got some Easter colored shaving cream paint to try!

He requested this bath every night this week, so we tried a few different colored waters to mix things up!
