Dog Bite

 

We had a bad day 3/11/14,  we had a rough trip to the dentist where we found out Owen’s front teeth need pulled.  Later in the day, Dexter bit Owen in a battle over some apples.  As I was changing Margot, Dexter apparently jumped up on the couch and started eating Owen’s apples.  Owen hit Dexter in the face, and Dexter bit him.  We ended up texting pictures to the pediatrician, and they recommended going to the Pediatric Urgent Care for some loose sutures.

Owen had a tough time at Urgent Care because he has some major fears with laying on his back and people touching his head- so this was a double whammy for him.  They got it cleaned out and decided that he probably wasn’t the best candidate for suturing.

The next morning, we actually went to the pediatrician again this day because we thought it was infected. 

 

As of 3/29/14, it is just a little itty bitty scab.  As for Dexter, although he came close to meeting his maker that day, he spends a lot more time outside and is never in the same room as the kids when food is present.  We all have a much more healthy fear of each other which is probably good.
