Big Bad Wolf

 

Owen and I went to the zoo on a 70 degree day to see if the animals were also enjoying the weather.  They were all very active!

 

The flamingos (not visible) were swimming in the pond.  Owen spent a lot of time watching from the bridge.  Most intriguing however was the Big Bad Wolf.  Owen loves the Three Little Pigs story, so he was excited to see the wolves.  This wolf was VERY excited to see him.

It started with pawing the wire mesh…

Then the wolf started to try and chew through!

Owen though it was great that the wolf wanted to play with him.  When the wolf’s gums started bleeding, I pulled Owen away.

Then they started eyeing me up!  So we moved onto the polar bears.

One of the polar bears is pregnant and segregated in its own area that is really accessible.  Owen however preferred sitting in this “photo-op” area.

The elephants were out and about playing with logs.

The panda’s are one of Owen’s favorites!  The panda was laying in a strange position with it’s tongue out!  I thought they kind of had the same expression!

 

We headed next to the farm to see the chickens which are allowed to roam around.

Owen’s favorites are the silky bantams in the henhouse.  He likes to walk in and look for eggs too. 

It certainly was an interesting day at the zoo!
