Owen and I braved the cold to visit this cute park with a Japanese garden. The daffodils were in full bloom, and it was really pretty!
Daily Tidbits from the Week:
- We were sitting at the table talking about Easter, and Owen told us that Mimi smelled like worms (then bugs, then flowers)!
- Owen hates his face getting wet in the tub. The other day he poured water over his head, and after five minutes of being really upset he told us “It’s not so bad.”
- While at the dollar store, Owen wanted to get an Easter bubble wand. When we got home and were playing with it, he said that he would do bubbles in the basement with Papa (he actually remembered this from Christmas)!
Changes in Owen
- This kid is ridiculously observant! Last month Owen went to the doctors with me for the first time. Well we had to go back again this month. As we’re sitting in the waiting room, he told me: “They moved the plants. The plant by the door is gone.” He was very insistent! It turns out they HAD moved all the plants from the waiting room!
- His memory is seriously scary. He will tell me about things we did during the summer with no visual clues or anything. He’ll be sitting there, staring into the distance, and then look at me and say, “Mimi has a beach with sand. I play there in the summer.”
- Owen’s verbal skills seem to have significantly increased over the last two weeks. He is speaking in full sentences… using articles, prepositions, etc ! He is also much more consistently using “I and me”. Sometimes he sounds so serious and adult-like, you forget he’s still a toddler and doesn’t reason. haha
- He has also started singing along with songs. His Kindermusik teacher pointed it out because he was actually singing along with her during class. He has started asking us to put on specific songs so he can sing along and clap. He also HATES when we sing with him! :) He says, “Mommy/Daddy can’t sing!”
