Week in Review: 3/10-3/16

 

I’ve been working on some Easter activities for Owen, and one was this cute little carrot counting, shaking, transferring game.  Of course he decided it would be fun to do in the nude, so the pictures are limited!

It was large and small wooden carrots and some carrot shaped Easter eggs…

We sorted by size and counted and all that good stuff

He mostly enjoyed shaking them!

And taking them apart and snapping them back together.

 

We went to the park on a warmer day (3/12)

Daily Tidbits from the Week:

- Owen is a CHATTERBUG!  He honestly never stops talking, and we love it.  You get to hear his whole inner voice out loud!  I had a woman in the store stop me and tell me it doesn’t change and that her teenager is still the same way, haha!  He mostly talks about fans, the beach, our friend’s new dog Nacho, and recites sections from books or songs that must get jogged by something he sees.  You just have to get used to a lot of repetitiveness!

- Owen has been building a lot of fans and fireplaces with his bristle blocks.  Well he was building a fireplace the other day and I heard him singing “Down through the chimney with Ol‘ St. Nick!” 

- Owen has several friends he sleeps with now, and he has an interesting way of naming them.  He has a monkey that he named Sissy (we have no clue where this came from), a cow named D.W. (little sister from the Arthur books), and a black rat named either Black Rat or Zillow (from Dr. Seuss Wocket in my Pocket) depending on the day.  He also recently named his hippo either Camel or Camo, we haven’t been able to completely confirm which it is!   His new sting ray was named Tow Truck (story to follow)

-  We were in Target and Owen spotted a “Cars” themed hand-held fan with the Tow Mater character on top.  Well he instantly fell in love, so we indulged.  Well this fan goes everywhere with him: in the car, to the store, and even SLEEPS on his pillow with him.  He even named his stingray Tow Truck in it’s honor!  It’s actually really cute to watch him latch on to something like a fan so dearly!
