Owen loves anything related to camping! When I saw this month’s Kiwi Crate was all about camping, I knew I had to renew our subscription. He insisted on doing every activity the day it came.
First up was making our own glowing campfire. As soon as Owen heard it lit up, I couldn’t keep him away! He was excited to try and follow the directions himself… step 1: applying clay to the base.
Khaki (formerly known as Black Dog) was set up to watch from outside his (bird) cage. He was very attentive.
Then adding the rocks and tissue paper flames.
And of course his flickering candle!

Then we made marshmallows to roast.
He also got a camping snack in his box this month. So of course he had to eat it!
Next up, his camping bag! First we painted the whole bag with water…
Then prepared the paint!
Once it was painted, we went out in the sun to add our shapes.
Khaki was allowed to join us outside for more camping.
Then Meemers (Owen’s new name for Mimi) came over to play!
After a fun morning with Mimi at the park. We came home to see what happened!
Later in the week we did some of the other activities like making our own tent. That’s Bingo camping with him (one of Owen’s favorite camping books is Ladybug Girl and Bingo).
We are planning on surprising Owen with a real tent so that we can go backyard camping!! Stay tuned
