We decided to celebrate Mother’s Day early and made a special trip on Saturday to the Tennessee Animal Safari. It is an old working farm that has been taking in exotic animals for over 100 years. There were two parts—a walk through section and the drive through section. Both were equally fun.

They had a whole section of parrots that talked… we didn’t realize this until Ryan walked up and one said Hello! I have a video coming soon!
They even had a giraffe, but I did feel bad he had a lousy set up. At least he could interact with people and get carrots though! Owen trying to reach him

Here we go… Dad was continually surprised by the aggressive emus that would just pop up in your window!

We fed the ostrich out the top so the emus didn’t butt in.
Not sure what this is… I lost our animal sheet!
Unfortunately zebras have special diets so they don’t get to go by the cars.

Then the llamas came to visit! I imagine this one saying: “Yeah, you’re not going anywhere!”
This guy was my favorite! How cute is he!!

We had four buckets of feed… word travelled fast and they came running!
Yup he blocked us in!
The pig section was super cute because they tail your car waiting for dropped feed!
Back to the petting zoo to see the monkeys
Then running to the bridge to see the peacocks.

And one more round through the cabin for Owen because he wanted to turn the grinder.
End of our trip! It was super fun and good practice for the Animal Kingdom!
