Dinosaur Day at the Museum

Thursday was supposed to be an at-home day, but we lucked out and were able to go to the museum to see the dinos!

Stan the TRex was right there when we went in!

When we got to the dinosaur section, I don’t think he was expecting animatronics!

He stood there just like this for a LONG time!

Then he asked me what was wrong with Triceratops

Checking out a trackway just like we had made!

Then we visited the rest of the museum.  This is an amazing circus that a man carved by hand in 1939 and spent the next 20 years perfecting and adding to it.  They can’t run it anymore since it’s so old, but the detail is astonishing.  It would barely fit in our kitchen!

Then into a replica of the original Piggly Wiggly.

This next picture is what happens when I implement consequences.  I told him there was no yelling in the museum, and if he yelled we had to leave.  Here we are leaving.

Here are some videos from our visit.  It was pretty dark, so they are grainy like the pictures.

Checking out the North American animal section
Asking me what these rocks are and where they are from (we did this for another 15 minutes after the video shut off!)

Dino trackway

Tomorrow I had planned to do an ice-age dinosaur dig in his pool, but we will have to postpone until next week as we will be prepping to put new floors in Owen and baby sister’s room!
